Concept/Synopsis: Moving from the country in the mid 2000’s to Chicago, Carmen wants to live the life, dreaming of becoming a rock star. Finding the transition harder than she’d thought depression starts to set in and even the best laid plans cannot keep her from sinking into the city’s hard underbelly. Memoir explores the ever changing landscape of of the bridge to adulthood while society flies head on into the digital age.
Concept/Synopsis: Aeron is finally at that point in life where one can settle into a comfortable salary in a new apartment with the partner of one’s dreams. But it’s a lot of change, with a very different future outlook than in the past. Asleep is the story of what happens in our dreams, often subconsciously, and the effects dreams have on our waking life.
* “One” may seem like a strange thing to say in such a mundane synopsis, but one point of this story is that none of the main characters have assigned genders. We relate to each other, and have similar experiences regardless of our sex, and this story aims to underline that fact.
